What happened during the holiday at the Hotel Playa Pesquero?

Mr Regan jetted off to the five-star Hotel Playa Pesquero, Holguin, along with his wife and three other couples. The quartet of holiday couples planned to explore as much of the region as possible and arranged a short stay in Havana before returning to Holguin and Hotel Playa Pesquero.

Unfortunately, just days into their return to the Thomas Cook promoted hotel, Mr Regan was struck by severe diarrhoea and vomiting.

Mr Regans illness was to prove so severe that he was forced to seek medication from a local pharmacy.

It was here and through conversations with several other holidaymakers that Mr Regan learnt he was far from alone in his suffering.

In fact, just one week after he returned to the UK, the tabloid press were reporting that stricken Hotel Playa Pesquero had been hospitalised in outbreaks of sickness at the resort.

Speaking to the legal experts at Holiday Illness Claims, Mr Regan believes that lapses in hotel food hygiene were responsible for his illness symptoms and lists his complaints as follows:

  • Food was served lukewarm
  • Dishes appeared to be reheated and re-served

At the close of his ruined holiday, Mr Regan made a formal complaint to his tour operator Thomas Cook only to eventually receive a far from adequate response.

Undeterred, the stricken holidaymaker turned to industry leaders Holiday Illness Claims for help pursuing a claim for holiday illness in Cuba.
