Illness outbreaks at the Steigenberger Aqua Magic
Full-time carer Jennifer Masters, stayed at the five star Steigenberger Aqua Magic in Egypt with her husband and their young son in July 2014 for a special 50th birthday celebration for Mr Masters.
Yet not long after their arrival an outbreak of illness left Mrs Masters suffering severe diarrhoea and crippling stomach cramps, forcing the West Yorkshire family to them to cancel their celebrations.
Mrs Masters told the Holiday Illness Claims team the chefs have no idea about hygiene and witnessed cold and luke-warm food served up on multiple occasions at the resort restaurant.
She also noted that not once in 10 days was the pool cleaned by hotel staff and was witness to the pool being used as a toilet by one female hotel guest.
All day around the pool you could smell a sewage like smell added a concerned Mrs Masters.
Throughout 2014 and 2015, the Steigenberger Aqua Magic has been the subject of multiple reports of poor hygiene and holiday illness from unfortunate British guests.
