What happened at the Stil Victoria Playa?

Ian and Suzanne Burnes travelled to the Stil Victoria Playa in Menorca in July 2014 to enjoy a well-earned family break in the sunshine with their five year son.

Unfortunately for the Burnes family, their chosen resort of Stil Victoria Playa had been the subject of widespread illness reports for several weeks prior to their stay.

Unaware of the resorts track record, the family very quickly started to notice signs of sub-standard hygiene including flies around the buffet area and food often served undercooked or lukewarm.

The first of the Burnes family to fall ill was the couples young son who began to suffer for sickness and diarrhoea half way through their stay.

A few short days later Mr and Mrs Burnes also fell ill, leaving the whole family bedridden with debilitating symptoms of vomiting, diarrhoea and fever for the remainder of their stay.

The family returned home to the UK unwell and bitterly disappointed from their disastrous holiday but were angered further when tour operator Thomson offered them just £350 in compensation for the ordeal they suffered.

We are really pleased with the compensation Holiday Illness Claims helped us receive and would like to thank them for all their hard work and support.

I would always encourage anyone who has received an offer of compensation from their tour operator to seek expert legal advice before settling as they could be entitled to a great deal more.
