She said: We had not been on the ship very long when people began to become ill. The first I noticed was that the facilities on the ship began to close down.
The whole experience was an absolute nightmare. We were literally surrounded by passengers who were vomiting on the stairs, in the shop, in the corridors, and in the lounges. It was simply horrendous.
My mother became ill on her birthday, Christmas Eve. This totally spoilt the occasion for her. My mother was confined to her cabin on Christmas Day and on Boxing Day. I was relieved when the cruise was cut short by one day due to the amount of illness on board.
