Sickness bug plagues the Marconfort Beach Club Hotel

Holidaymakers have criticised the Marconfort Beach Club Hotel in Torremolinos after outbreaks of sickness bugs at the hotel.

One guest to the hotel who was concerned before travelling said: I had read the reviews before leaving and was slightly worried after reading a lot of people had been going down with a sickness and stomach bug.

He continued: After checking in I saw one lady being taken away in an ambulance on a drip which concerned me even more.

A party of ten who arrived at the hotel has revealed that on their last night three members were violently sick.

The gentleman commented: On arriving home 2 more of us have gone down with it. Not a very pleasant journey home for 3 of us, the 2 1/2 hour flight seemed like a life time.

Our doctor confirmed the illness was Norovirus.

After reading previous reviews it seems this is a common occurrence in the hotel, in my opinion it needs closing down deep cleaning and re-opening to get rid. Everyone we spoke to seemed to have someone in their party who had the virus, and you could hear people being sick in their rooms while walking along the corridors.

Anne Thomson, Head of Travel Law at Holiday Illness Claims, commented: Tour operators and hoteliers need to carry out a full investigation into the standards of food and hygiene at this Hotel.

It is essential that all staff members are fully trained in all aspects of international standards of hygiene.
