Pool and food hygiene criticised by Melia Jardines del Rey guests

  • Multiple guests succumb to gastric illness at the Melia Jardines del Rey
  • Raw and undercooked food reportedly served to guests at the hotel
  • Hotel managements handling of the situation slammed by guests

It appears that multiple stays at Cubas Melia Jardines del Rey hotel have unfortunately been devastated by illness outbreaks.

Recent guests of the Thomas Cook promoted resort have told of their experiences on TripAdvisor, including one July 2017 visitor who commented:

Some of the people we travelled with were sick from there and only started feeling better a few days ago. Make sure if you are having fish, it is well cooked.

Very poor vacation experience, unfortunately. Will not be returning to this hotel.

Additionally, it appears that this holidaymaker was not alone in having their holiday at the Melia Jardines del Rey affected by illness, as another disgruntled poster who labelled their stay as a massive mistake revealed:

One pool was closed and dirty the other very dirty.

As for the food me and my other half have come home with Dicky tummies, [the] food was cold and under cooked, meat was raw and bloody [with] lots of [flies] everywhere landing on open food.
