Suspected stomach illness outbreak blights holidays at the Sirenis Punta Cana Resort Casino & Aquagames

  • Recent visitors of the Dominican resort claim to have been hit by illness
  • Poor room and food hygiene held responsible for the outbreak by frustrated holidaymakers
  • It is not too late to make a claim for holiday illness compensation if your package holiday has been ruined by illness within the last three years!

Whilst investigating possible outbreaks of sickness at worldwide all-inclusive resorts, the HolidayIllnessClaims team have discovered a number of worrying reports which have been made by former visitors of the Sirenis Punta Cana Resort Casino & Aquagames.

Holidaymakers to have recently stayed at the Dominican complex have commented on how poor hotel hygiene has resulted in them suffering from sickness during their holiday.

In a post which has recently been uploaded to TripAdvisor, one affected holidaymaker revealed:

Upon entry to two out of the three rooms, a very musty, unpleasant odour overwhelmed us. There were black mould patches throughout the rooms, especially in the ground floor room. The rooms were downright disgusting: dirty, outdated, a health hazard, and not acceptable.

In addition to experiencing several inconveniences and battles at check in, my sister fell quite ill on the second day of vacation.

She was in bed a full day and a half experiencing frequent vomiting and diarrhoea. She can only suspect food poisoning from the buffet food.

This caused her to miss out on almost two days of our vacation. The rest of the adults experienced gastrointestinal issues off and on, some of us still experiencing the effects post vacation.

In addition to this, another recent visitor of the TUI promoted resort revealed that their stay could have been so much better, before adding:

I always, always look on the bright side when traveling and this is no exception. There were a lot of wonderful things about this resort but a few things that could have been so much better.

We all felt a little ‘ill’ at some point during the 5 day stay. Travellers diarrhoea didn’t escape one of us.

We compared notes…some brushed teeth with the tap water…some did not…some had slushie drinks by day…some did not…some had beer…some did not. Not sure what the common denominator was but we all felt it at some point…some worse than others.

Our expert opinion

Unfortunately, this is not the first time that this hotel has made headlines at Holiday Illness Claims.

In October 2015, we first raised concerns regarding hygiene standards at the Sirenis Punta Cana Resort Casino & Aquagames after numerous guests reportedly fell ill during their stays.

Illness has no place within a package holiday, and I strongly urge anyone who has fallen foul of hygiene standards on their Dominican holiday within the last three years to get in touch for advice on the merits of pursuing a no win no fee claim.
