Honeymoon holiday halted by sickness at the Jaz Aquaviva Resort

  • Numerous recent Jaz Aquaviva Resort struck with sickness
  • Poor hotel hygiene at the resort exposed online
  • Disappointed holidaymakers warn others to take Imodium

Its become evident to us here at HolidayIllnessClaims that multiple holidaymakers who have recently visited the Jaz Aquaviva Resort have had their stays plagued by gastric illness.

This follows the recent reports that revealed a group of 26 holidaymakers are seeking compensation after their holidays were marred by illness at the five-star hotel.

Included in this group were children along with a couple who travelled to the resort to celebrate their honeymoon, and when revealing what possibly caused the illness guests claimed cross contamination was rife and the hotel pool was not regularly cleaned.

In addition to this, it appears that even more holidaymakers have succumbed to illness at this report after many have posted their opinions on the website TripAdvisor.

A British holidaymaker who travelled with their family to the First Choice promoted resort in July 2017 commented:

The food temperature was never checked, the restaurants not very clean and we saw people (especially local Egyptian children) drop food and serving spoons etc. and put it back in the tray. Both myself and my daughter were very ill.

I felt terrible nauseous and had terrible stomach cramps and severe diarrhoea for eleven days and my daughter had the same for five days.

We both had to have antibiotics and gastro tablets from the chemist as our two boxes of Imodium didn’t work at all. I booked a quad bike trip but after ten minutes had to quit very quickly to get back to the toilets where I was very sick.

Furthermore, another holidaymaker also claims to have suffered from similar issues during their stay at the Jaz Aquaviva resort, as they disclosed:

I didn’t eat anything [on Friday] due to not feeling very well. However my nine year old son and partner became to become poorly. We had to have an early night.

I became poorly again after eating [on Saturday]. [My] family are still poorly we had to then dictate the holiday due to my sickness.

Our Head of Travel Laws comments

To hear that there has been a serious gastroenteritis outbreak at the Jaz Aquaviva Resort is totally unacceptable, and our thoughts are with all those who have been affected.

Simply because of the sheer amount of holidaymakers that have been reported to have been affected, this tells me that there has been a major breakdown with regards to the hygiene standards at this resort.

I should hope that the hotel management staff along with the tour operator investigate this illness and locate the source of the outbreak, to ensure that something like this doesnt happen again and that more holidays are not ruined.
