Holidaymakers reveal they had to change hotels after falling ill at the Hotel Polynesia

  • Many guests reveal how their holidays were marred by gastric illness
  • A lack of food hygiene is held responsible for the outbreak by many
  • You may be able to claim if your holiday was ruined by an illness which lasted for at least a week!

The legal specialists here at HolidayIllnessClaims are concerned over recent reports which have emerged from the Hotel Polynesia, that suggest food poisoning has recently struck numerous visitors of the resort.

Multiple former visitors of the four star hotel have detailed the experiences of their stay on TripAdvisor, and some of these reviews do not make good reading for the Spanish resort.

One poster describes their visit to the TUI promoted resort as a mixed bag, before adding:

The poolside food was dire, my husband found a burger bun with green mould inside, the bread was obviously carried forward to each sitting and the “hot” food was sat there for ages.

Our last day was marred by myself and husband having holiday tummy so [we were] stuck in the roomâ?¦but my mum and daughter had their own room and stayed well clear.

Furthermore, another former guest of the Hotel Polynesia also commented on how the resorts lack of hygiene forced them to change hotels, as they revealed:

We were all inclusive in the hotel but the food was really unappetizing and caused both my partner and I to become unwell.

Most of the food was on hot plates that were not hot, the burgers looked like road kill and we witnessed the chef touch raw fish and then raw meat without washing his hands.

Obviously there is no concern over cross contamination.

We ended up paying about 300 euros to change hotel as we were so unhappy with the level of cleanliness and the service. It’s really not worth the trip.

Our legal specialists take

We have covered reports of gastric illness problems at the Hotel Polynesia previously, so it is massively disappointing to discover that guests are continuing to fall ill at this resort.

It is now imperative that the hotel management and tour operator investigate these recent claims, to ensure that further holidaymakers are not affected by the outbreak.

I would further encourage anyone who may have been affected by gastric illness on holiday to get in touch with either myself or a member of our holiday claims team for expert advice on how to make a claim.
