Severe diarrhoea and vomiting hospitalises guest at Villa Romana

A British holidaymaker has turned to the experts at Holiday Illness Claims for compensation advice after illness completely devastated their stay at the Villa Romana in 2015.

The holidaymaker claimed to have suffered from severe diarrhoea, vomiting and stomach cramps just days in to their 14-night family stay to celebrate an important joint birthday.

The stricken guest reported that a doctor was called to their hotel room on three occasions before they were admitted to hospital overnight.

Despite medical treatment, the holidaymaker claimed that they continued to feel unwell and incredibly weak for the duration of their stay. In a particularly distressing statement, they described being too weak to even sit in a wheelchair provided by the hotel.

Alarmingly, the holidaymaker alleged that they witnessed breaches of food hygiene at the four-star hotel and they described seeing cats roaming in the outside eating areas.

One guest wrote that most of the time the food was cold. They also raised concerns regarding cleanliness in the hotel buffet restaurant: The glasses were filthy, full of either lipstick or food debris, every night I had to change ours at least twice and the same for the cutlery which was also dirty.
