Food poisoning curtails Cuban dream holidays at Sol Cayo Coco Hotel
Holiday Illness Claims are concerned to learn that outbreaks of illness have plagued stays at the beachfront Sol Cayo Coco Hotel.
Afflicted guests have taken to review site TripAdvisor to voice their concerns regarding hygiene standards at the hotel.
In a particularly distressing report, one holidaymaker who honeymooned at the resort claims that the only good thing about the place was the weather and beautiful beaches.
This was meant to be our honeymoon (dream holiday not) â?¦ no hot water for a week, dirty bed lines, same food every day, stuck in room for 2 days due to food poisoning.
Another recent guest from June 2016 states that everyone we spoke to had either been ill or had a member of their party ill in bed. The disgruntled holidaymaker lists their concerns as follows:
The food in the restaurant when we first arrived was cold, whatever you chose.
It was also covered in flies which no one seemed too concerned with. One morning we even found a dead fly in our jam!
The food tended to sit about for a long time.
Holiday Illness Claims are industry leaders and we regularly successfully settle compensation claims for holidaymakers stricken by food poisoning abroad. Travel law expert, Anne Thomson recently helped a Northumberland family recover £19,500 in damages after a severe salmonella infection ruined their Tunisian holiday.
Commenting upon the latest reports of illness at Sol Cayo Coco Hotel, Cuba, Anne said: I am concerned by the reports of poor food hygiene at the resort. It is well known that illnesses such as salmonella, E. coli or campylobacter can occur if food is nor prepared and stored adequately.
