E. coli

E. coli has resulted in many holidaymakers requiring medical attention

If you have contracted E. coli on holiday, our holiday illness claims team is on hand to help you make a successful claim for compensation.

What is E. coli?

Although most types of E. coli are harmless, some strains can cause intestinal infections. E. coli is most commonly contracted as a result of consuming food which has been contaminated with E. coli bacteria. This often causes symptoms of nausea, headaches and stomach cramps. Holidaymakers may also experience abdominal pain and diarrhoea which can often be bloody.

Am I entitled to make a claim?

Although E. coli is one of the most common causes of illness on holiday, you might be unaware that you could make a claim for compensation.

That is why our holiday illness claims team is on hand to offer any support and guidance you may need on the claims process.

The Package Travel Regulations 1992 allow you to bring a claim directly against your tour operator here in the UK. This means that if your illness was caused as a result of fault on the part of a package holiday hotel, your tour operator may be liable.
